The Working Group was established by the South Florida Ecosystem Restoration Task Force (Task Force) in accordance with section 528(f)(2)(d) of the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 1996. The Florida-based group consists of 25 members representing tribal, local, state and federal entities.
The duties of the Working Group are to:
Assist the Task Force in its efforts to coordinate the development of consistent policies, strategies, plans, programs, projects, activities, and priorities addressing the restoration, preservation, and protection of the South Florida ecosystem;
Prepare draft coordination documents for Task Force review to include the Biennial Report, Task Force Strategy and Land Acquisition Strategy;
Respond to specific priority activities assigned by the Task Force.
